Exemptions Until The End Of The Year

Following exemptions for all types of visas for UAE until the end of 2020, another great initiative came from government to further support its people. Commercial vehicles in Abu Dhabi have been exempted from paying registration fee until the end of the year, as police have announced.

The initiative comes along with #AbuDhabi’s Economic Stimulus package, registering commercial vehicles is free of charge until end of 2020. All registrations that were completed after March 16, 2020 will receive refunds, as reported by Abu Dhabi Police. Police said the exemption on registration fees for commercial vehicles is applicable from March 16, 2020 until the end of the year.

In March this year, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced that motorists across the country would be able to get their vehicle registration renewed without paying the fines accrued or getting the vehicle tested.

The ministry said the decision was part of the country’s preventive measures to protect customers from Covid-19.

Also in March, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi said it had implemented Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s decision that exempts all individual and company/commercial vehicles from Abu Dhabi toll gate fees until the end of 2020.
